Real Wedding: Woodland Theme in Portland, OR

Real Wedding: Woodland Theme in Portland, OR

We love real weddings, especially all the cute and unique ones that take place in our lovely state of Oregon. Here is an intimate one with a woodland feel which is so perfect for Portland!

From the bride & groom:

“Our wedding was designed around simplicity. Despite dating and being engaged for 3 1/2 years, our families had never met each other prior to the wedding because we’re from opposite ends of the country. I, Brian, am originally from Charlottesville, VA and moved here, to Portland, two years ago to live with Jenni, who’s a Portland native. So we wanted to create an event and atmosphere to inspire mingling and connectivity. We loved being with both of our families, together, and watch everyone enjoy themselves. We did our very best not to over-think the little things and focused on the marriage more than the wedding.”

Vintage Inspiration: Champagne Wedding and Event Coordination

Vintage Inspiration: Champagne Wedding and Event Coordination

Do you love all the vintage inspired weddings you have been seeing across the internet? It can seem like a huge undertaking to carry the vintage theme throughout your entire wedding from the wedding dress to the chairs and table settings. When I started to research just how difficult it would be to pull off in Portland, I was pleasantly surprised at the tools and services out there to help you succeed with a vintage wedding.

One of my favorites was Champagne Wedding and Event Coordination. They have some amazing vintage wedding ideas and rentals. I was particularly inspired by their table settings. Having matching vintage table settings is a sure way to wow your guests. I had such a hard time choosing which table settings to feature from Champagne Wedding and Event Coordination. Here are a quite a few of my favorites. Photography by Paul Rich Studios.

These gorgeous floral place settings would be a perfect touch to a vintage wedding.

Love pink? These are an elegant touch to any wedding day and can also help carry out a vintage theme. Also a perfect fit for a bridal shower with a pink theme.

You can even add the vintage look to the dessert and wedding cake table. I love the golden glass  cake plate on the left, and vintage or not, the cake plate on the right has an unbeatable clean and classic feel.

Last but not least, the following images can make a big vintage statement. I love the idea of a crystal chandelier for an evening wedding. With the help of Champagne Wedding and Event Coordination you can keep the vintage them seamless for your wedding.

Wedding Ideas for Something Blue

“Something blue” can be tricky if your wedding colors just don’t jive with blue. But “something blue” does not have to be the bane of your wedding day existence. There are plenty of ways to add “something blue” and actually improve the look and feel of your wedding. Some of the newest wedding ideas for ways to do “something blue” involve nails, shoes, purses, headpieces, and jewelry.

I found this gorgeous wedding head piece by Selena Michele. It’s handmade and runs $45.00.

I found this clutch lined with blue on the inside by Mermaid’s Dream. It costs $68.00.

Don’t forget there are many shades of blue. Traditionally brides have used a baby blue, but that does not mean you have to follow suit. This year I love the “something blues” I am seeing in Navy blue, royal blue,  and even turquoise.

Lots of options in turquoise here. Shoes and jewelry seem to be the perfect spot to incorporate blue and keep with tradition.

This necklace is classic and elegant enough for any wedding. I found this necklace on One Wed.

Shoes are a sure way to make a statement with blue.

The style of the shoes is very traditional, but the color is not.

Last but not least, go bold with your hands and have your nails painted blue for the big wedding day.

something blue nailsI love this MAC nail color. Look for Breezy Blue from MAC. See, incorporating blue doesn’t have to give you the blues.

Hey Lady, Wedding Day Shoes

Hey Lady, Wedding Day Shoes

We love shoes and we aren’t ashamed to admit it. Yes, I get made fun of by my dad on occasion about it. He just doesn’t understand why a lady would need so many shoes. Last I counted I was easily over the 40 mark. I like tall boots and short boots, cute tennis shoes, a fancy high heel and a lovely wedge. When it comes to finding wedding day shoes I find that there is bit of a void out there in shoe land. For some reason they all start to look alike (boring) and  I want to hear the saying “OMG! Where did you get those shoes?!”.

So I was thrilled to come across the website Hey Lady. They are located in Mountain View, CA and since Cali is a our neighbor to the south I thought I’d give them some love on the blog. Besides wanting to own every design they offer, I was thrilled to find out they are comfortable too! What? A high heel that is pretty, sexy and you can wear it all day? You can also follow them on facebook, I know I am and I’m trying to decide which pair to get for my wedding day. Oh, did we forget to mention we are engaged?! I’ll work on getting a trunk show to happen here in Portland as well. Enjoy browsing the images below and head over to their website to order your special wedding day shoes and bridesmaids shoes.

Lace details on the heel. Heel, Boy in cream and black for $320

Champagne Goggles in navy blue and a lovely gold. $240

One my favorite designs, Pre-Nope in grey, white and deep purple. $320

Yes, Ma’am. These are SO Portland. Love the vintage style for $240

Don’t forget some bling, bling. Twinkletoes are stunning! $280 and $320
