I’m always on the lookout for new local talent.  As an art school alumni, I appreciate the innovative ideas that come from students and love to support the newbies.  When I found this particular artist, I was inspired by his unique wedding rings.  Although he’s not a new artist in the sense that he’s been working as a goldsmith for over 10 years, Tyler Pesek of Tyler Pesek Design and Portland Custom Jewelry is an Industrial Design student who has studied art and product design.  His background shows in the designs of his Strata rings.  They are infused with the beauty of the northwest – a perfect unity of nature and modern urban spaces.  Each ring is a blend of sterling silver or stainless steel and wood or colored acrylic.  These wedding bands are available in both the traditional round shape and square or triangle shapes.  If you want a wedding ring that’s different from every other band you see, you should really check these out.  Here are a few examples of his work, which you can find on Etsy:

Wood and metal triangle wedding ring
A variation of the wood and metal triangle wedding ring.
Wood and metal traditional round wedding ring.
Wood and metal square wedding ring.
Colored acrylic and metal wedding rings.

Tyler Pesek also designs some beautiful, custom wedding and engagement rings using more traditional diamonds and metals.

This is what Tyler Pesek has to say about his work:

“A custom engagement and wedding ring is a beautiful, lasting expression of your unique love.  When you participate in the design of your wedding  it becomes an even more powerful symbol of love. I can work with you to create something that will last forever and never go out of style. For an appointment please contact us via e-mail at tylerpesekdesign@gmail.com or call 503-481-4678.

So what do you think?  Are these rings something you would wear?  If so, which is your favorite one and why?  We would love to hear your opinions!
