4th of July Weddings: Staying true to the red, white and blue

One of the most popular wedding dates is just around the corner!  4th of July weddings are sure to make a big bang, but double check your key guests will be available for the long weekend.  Opinions vary from it’s easy to get time off from work to being miffed that you’ll have to give up your usual holiday plans.  If you’re committed to the red, white and blue and your guests are too, check out these patriotic wedding ideas starting with a Christian Dior haute couture wedding dress!

I love the peek-a-boo effect of this bridal gown by Christian Dior.  For brides who aren’t ready to commit to a lot of color on their wedding dress, this is a great way to add a little something blue to your outfit.

Another wedding dress with blue accents by Christian Dior.  It reminds me of the old blue and white porcelain serving dishes (which would actually be a good addition to a 4th of July reception table).

Put a vintage twist on your red, white and blue wedding.  These ideas are a blast from the past and super cute!

I’m a huge fan of popcorn and it makes a great snack for guests while they wait for the main course.

It’s a picnic in the ’50′s!  The old milk bottles, lunch box and suitcases are a nice touch to this food table.

Another great way to give guests a little snack before dinner is this mini picnic basket place card filled with strawberries.  YUM!

Nothing says red, white and blue like American pie!  Offer a variety of tasty pastries instead of a wedding cake.
