Wedding Invitations: Paper Made Invites

There are just as many wedding invitation choices out there as there are dresses. Finding the right one for you might lead you to a swirly sea of paper, or you can just take it from me and take a look at Paper Made Invites. Lindsey Vlasman started Paper Made Invites when she designed her own wedding invitations right here in Portland. She has since relocated to where her husband was from in Spokane, WA, but still sends invites all over the globe. She has a great backing to draw from with degrees in both graphic design and fine arts.

I linked to the Paper Made Invites website, but I actually discovered her on Etsy and fell in love with the designs I am sharing today. All can easily be purchased on Etsy and sent directly to you!

You gotta love the local bridge theme. I do.

rustic wedding invitations

I love this for a rustic wedding or a western wedding theme. Also seems very Oregon!

Oregon wedding invitations

Simple but with substance. I like the orange highlights to help brighten it up.

paper mad invites

This seems so Cinderella to me! The chandelier idea is very creative.

summer wedding invitations

Cute for a summer wedding!

packaged wedding invitations

This looks so good all wrapped up! The twine is a great addition for a rustic wedding or just as an added detail for any wedding invitations.

flower wedding invitations

Simple and elegant and very versatile.

peacock feather wedding invitations

I think this is my favorite of Lindsey’s designs and can be used for so many different things. Great for a very formal wedding, but also very Oregon with the feathers. Bold and beautiful.

Wedding Beauty Check List

Wedding Beauty Check List

When planning your wedding day you may think that when you’ve checked off the major items on your list that you have time to relax until the day arrives. Don’t get too comfortable! I’m in the final planning stages of a very small ceremony with less than ten guests. You may think how easy! No matter the size of the guest list an event takes planning. Here are some final details I’m currently working out and thought you could start thinking about as well. When you look at this list, it’s all beauty or salon services! If men only knew what we do to look so fabulous. Make a list and check it twice! Hope this helps with your planning.

  • Set up a trial run for hair and make-up.
  • Ask your make-up artist how long the process will take. This will help you set your start time for the day. Very important to give yourself a little bit of a cushion, especially if you are traveling from the salon.
  • Get your hair trimmed and colored. Stylist, Mandy Zelinka recommends doing this two weeks before your wedding day so your color looks more natural.
  • Where are you putting your dress on? Will it be at the church, ceremony site or at your hotel room. Remember, you don’t want to sit in your dress in the car if you don’t have to. Why? The freshly steamed garment will quickly have butt wrinkles!
  • Have a dedicated bag packed the night before with everything you will need to get ready. This could include the following: bridal underwear/garments, toothbrush & paste, lint brush, garter, strapless bra, bridal shoes, tide bleach pen, small needle and thread kit, hair products, make-up etc.
  • Set up your waxing appointment a few days before the wedding.
  • Set up an appointment for your manicure and pedicure, if you need it add in a massage! We like Pink & White Nail Salon with their shellac colors.
  • Book a spray tan three days before for a little extra color. You can also do this after your manicure. You can decide how light or dark you want it to look.  Try the bronze bar at Portland Spa & Boutique, it gives you a nice bronze glow. They also offer some amazing wedding packages for the complete relaxation and pampering experience!

Something Blue Sunday: Wedding Shoe Decals

If the blue wedding shoes I posted last Sunday are just too much or too bold, you can add flair another way. I think these wedding shoe decals are adorable. They will work on almost and shoes, and Waterfall Designs offers two fonts to choose from. Give your red, blue, purple, white, or any color shoes the “something blue” they need with these little stickers.

From the Waterfall Designs Etsy shop, “I Do” sticker wedding shoe decals offer something blue for brides. Tiffany blue vinyl decal in a nice script font for wedding heels. Decals come ready to be applied to shoes or any smooth flat object (Hmmm, what ideas can you come up with?! This is a great photo opportunity.

Not looking for “something blue”? Not a problem. You can get the “I Do” decals in a variety of colors. Whichever color you like, they are only $4.75. What a steal!
