Art of Weddings Early Bird SPECIAL

The Art of Weddings is a swankier kind of bridal show held each winter in a more intimate, luxurious space than the typical convention hall.  2011′s event was so popular, though, that they’re moving to a larger, but still very chic space in the Pearl District.  On Thursday, January 19th, 2012, we invite all future brides along with their friends to join us at Pure Space Portland from 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm for a one-of-a-kind bridal event.

Tickets are on sale NOW!  Simply click here to purchase or visit The Art of Weddings and click on “event registration.”  If you purchase your ticket by November 30th and enter the code EARLYBIRD2012, you’ll save $5 off the standard ticket price of $20.  (Does not apply to VIP tickets.)  For the first time in the history of Art of Weddings, we’re super excited to announce a limited number of VIP tickets will also be available for purchase.  These tickets will grant each ticket holder entrance to the event one hour prior to standard ticket holders (that’s 5:00 pm instead of 6:00 pm), cover the cost of one extra special gift bag, signature cocktails and a reserved seat for the fashion show.  We definitely can’t wait to see the 2012 bridal fashion show with all the amazing gowns accompanied by live music courtesy of John Ross.

REALLY, you don’t want to miss this one!  The Art of Weddings website is updated regularly with links to all the sponsors and vendors you’ll find at the event, so be sure to check that out.  You can also catch a great video (seen below) by Ambient Sky Couture Imagery that showcases the 2011 event.  Get your tickets now!

Bloomsberry Floral: Inspiring ideas

With all this Autumn rain lately, the gardens have been returning to their rich green color, while leaves are starting their display of brilliant reds, oranges and yellows.  Despite these pops of color, we’re well on our way to saying goodbye to the showy flowers reminiscent of spring and summer days.  That doesn’t mean we’ve stopped thinking about or needing flowers to cheer us up and decorate!  Plenty of couples decide to get married in the off-season or are just now beginning to plan their wedding for next year.  Either way, we want to keep the flow of ideas going by sharing one of our favorite florists with you — Bloomsberry Floral.

We love their blog posts, because there are so many cute flower and decorating ideas to behold.  Their online portfolio is also fairly large with plenty of examples of their beautiful creations.  And if you’re on the hunt for vendors in addition to a florist, Bloomsberry‘s resource page has a few suggestions.  As one of The Art of Wedding‘s sponsors, we are so proud of their work and can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

New Venue Space at Geranium Lake

We’re always on the hunt for some great indoor wedding venues since Oregon can be a bit wet throughout much of the year.  Lucky for you and us, we just found out about a new venue space created within Geranium Lake, one of Portland’s leading floral, event, styling and decor boutiques.

Located at 555 SW Oak in the big pink building (same as Portland City Grill), Geranium Lake offers a great downtown location for bridal showers, weddings and more.  Because they fully operate their flower shop and design studio out of every square inch, the space is naturally decorated with beautiful flowers and furniture.  While this effortless beauty is a huge plus, some brides might worry they can’t add a personal touch to the space.  Not to worry, though!  Everything in the store is on rollers, so things are easily moved to create the perfect space.  They also have floor length curtains on tracks, which can be used to create more intimate spaces.  The front counter turns into a bar.  A selection of linens, lights and miscellaneous props are all available for use as well.  Brides are more than welcome to customize the decor or simply take advantage of all that Geranium Lake has to offer.  We also thought maybe a flower shop would be too small to comfortably fit large wedding parties, but Geranium Lake is so much more than a flower shop with its 5000 square feet of studio space and hosting capacity of 350 people.  We definitely urge you to consider checking out this space for any of your future party needs.  Finally, Geranium Lake is one of the featured vendors at The Art of Weddings bridal show on January 19th, 2012 — all the more reason to mark down that date and join us for a night of fun!

Jillian Rabe

Big thanks go out to Jillian Rabe, LLC today!  She and her team are the driving force behind the fashion show at The Art of Weddings bridal event.  The fashion show is one of the biggest crowd pleasers at The Art of Weddings, so it wouldn’t be the same without Jillian Rabe‘s brilliant production efforts.  While Jillian Rabe is not in the wedding production business, you can still benefit from the Shop Portland experience put on by her company.  If you have a group of friends and family members who want a truly pampered shopping experience, email onboard@loveshopportland.com for more information.  You can also read about Shop Portland online at http://www.jillianrabe.com/shop-pdx.  With perks like riding in a luxury motor coach, exclusive sales, on board stylists and personal shoppers, this would be a one-of-a-kind bonding experience for you and your best pals (whether that includes bridesmaids, moms, friends or whoever)!
