Sometimes in the craziness of fast-paced life and the stress of planning a wedding, we forget to connect in a meaningful way with the people who matter most to us. Sand Dune Publishing offers a convenient way to slow down and open the lines of communication with your soon to be husband or wife, your family and your friends. Plus, they make great, meaningful wedding gifts. Their “Between Me and You” keepsake journals ask 35-45 questions about your relationship, such as “What are your favorite memories of the time we first met?” and “Is there anything that you wish we would spend more time doing together?” There are different journals for different relationships, including romantic couples, parents, children, grandparents, siblings and friends. Tim & Yelena! They are getting a free engagement session from Jasmine Photography. All they did was sign up for the newsletter on the right of the blog during the month of March. Congrats to both of them on winning and their upcoming wedding.
Here is a little more about them, they have the cutest proposal story!
HOW THEY MET:
Tim and I met freshman year of high school but did not start dating until Senior year. We both went to the same college as well and decided to get engaged once we graduated from college and figured out our plans for grad school. He is currently in the clinical pscyhology program at George Fox and I am in the optometry program at Pacific University.
Tim proposed to me on my birthday, October 29th. He arrived at my house with a large bouquet of flowers and an oddly shaped wrapped gift. As I unwrapped the gift, to my surprise it was a mini shovel. He then gave me his iphone (which had a pin dropped on a map) and told me we were going on a scavenger hunt. We drove to a park and walked around until I found the “X”. I began to dig as he nervously stood by, I finally hit the bottom. I opened the cardboard box and inside was a wooden box that he had decorated. I opened the box and inside were all of the small souvenirs such as, movie tickets, concert tickets, photos, mix cds I had made him, pretty much everything throughout the last 5 years we had dated. Once I hit the bottom of the box, a small tab with the words pull awaited me. I pulled and the bottom of the box said, “will you marry me!?” I said yes, and the wedding planning had begun.
We are getting married at Rock Creek Country club on August 12th, 2012.
