One of the best things about getting married in Portland is finding your dream dress at one of the local bridal boutiques. There is a lot to be said for the personal attention you will receive at these smaller and unique shops. Plus, it’s awesome to support local owned businesses! The designer dresses will blow you away and the prices will vary just like they do at the chain stores…so don’t assume bridal boutiques are out of your budget.
Let’s face it, it’s all about the dress!
There are many details involved with planning a wedding, but nothing as important as you finding the dress. The dress that was meant for you. You deserve to feel utterly fantastic and your most beautiful self on your big day. This is the one day of your adult life that you get to indulge in the full treatment…hair, make up, jewelry, shoes, and that amazing dress. Yes, you want your guests to remember the signature cocktails and the centerpieces…but you want their jaw to literally drop when they see you in that dress.
Slow down and enjoy the experience!
Make your dress search a truly local experience by setting up appointments at a few different bridal boutiques downtown or in quaint Portland neighborhoods. Bring your best girls and make a day of it! Ask the boutique if they offer champagne or if you can bring it along. Plan brunch or cake tasting nearby to break up the day. Remember, you may have a certain style in mind but be open to trying on suggestions that are outside of your initial vision. You might surprise yourself and fall in love with something unexpected.
CAN YOU AFFORD TO SHOP AT Portland BRIDAL BOUTIQUES?
Yes! You most certainly can. You will be surprised at how many options you can find at bridal boutiques for various budgets. Make sure to ask local bridal boutiques about trunk shows and sample sales. Hint: Summer time is typically the slower season for bridal boutiques. Shop at the end of the summer season and you might encounter some extra discounted dresses. Be realistic about your dress budget, but also consider that it’s okay to splurge a bit on your dress. Surely, you can cut some costs somewhere else if needed!
